Building Inspection
Oregon needs certified building inspectors and plans examiners in public and private agencies. Over the past 20 years, through ups and downs in the business cycle, Oregon has averaged 20,600 building permits annually. The State of Oregon estimates the state will need hundreds more inspection professionals in the next five years. Once you have completed all the courses in the program, it is the responsibility of the student to complete a credential application. A graduation fee is charged when the application is submitted.

This course begins with a discussion of inspection points concerning kitchens and bathrooms and common problems with components such as walls, windows, and electrical and plumbing connections. You’ll study the components of plumbing systems before moving on to review energy conservation and other environmental and health issues that impact home inspection. This course is designed to enable the home inspector to maintain licensing by the State of Maryland by completing half of the mandatory continuing education requirements.
After graduating from this program, you'll be qualified to inspect new homes as well as older residences.
